Nolan is on the move! He is finally crawling more than a few feet at a time. Just this past weekend, he crawled from one end of the room to the other several times. He's also starting to pull up on things & is getting into just about everything. Time to do more babyproofing!

Here, Ryan is "reading" a Star Wars book to Papa. He's heard the story so many times that he's memorized most of the lines. (-: Notice Nolan rolling/kicking in the background?

Growing up!

Nolan is close to 11 months now! Where has the time gone? He weighs approximately 22 lbs. (75th %ile) and is almost 30" long (90th %ile). He's just now beginning to crawl (only a few feet at a time). Rolling is definitely his preferred method of getting around, and he's quick mover! He can roll from one room to the next in no time at all! Hopefully, it won't be long before he trades rolling for crawling or walking! He's using a lot of jargon these days. He has his own little conversations with us. (-: He can approximate some words (i.e. eat, bye, up, more) and is consistently saying "mama", "dada", "Papa", and "baby". He still loves to hear us sing "Patty Cake" and will clap his hands as soon as we begin the song. His new favorite is "Wheels on the Bus". He shakes his head "no" when he hears us say, "yes" (already showing a little obstinance). (-; It's hard to believe we'll be celebrating his first birthday in just a little over a month! He & Ryan have brought us so much joy!

ST. SIMONS TRIP- FEBRUARY 2011

We had a WONDERFUL time during our visit to St. Simons Island! There, we joined Nana & Papa, as well as Jenn and cousins Evan, Elise, & Andrew. (Jess and Joe were able to stay for a few days before returning to work.) The weather was perfect (in the 70's most of the week), and the kids had a blast playing together! We're looking forward to another visit this July and are super excited that the whole family (including Kevin and his family) will be there then! Here are a few pics during our visit...

Ryan has become quite the picky eater, so this was my attempt to get him to try new foods (i.e. carrots and grilled cheese on whole wheat bread). Unfortunately, my plan didn't work out so well. He ate the "banana ears", the two mini M&M's, and the raisin and said he was "finished". He did, however, assure me that he would begin trying new things when he "turns 45". Great...Just 42 more years and we'll be on our way to less picky eating habits! (-;
